Part 1 - Reflect, Amplify—from idea to outline

  • Sifting through your ideas to create a core idea for a signature talk — an external perspective can help you get clear and see the bigger picture or context for your idea

  • Create a through line for your talk to bring it to outline form

Part 2 - Structure, Strategize—from outline to first draft

  • Filling/fleshing out the outline (let’s decorate the Christmas tree!)

  • Story-telling structure

  • Objectives/Tactics/Obstacles: get clear on the audience and what they need — and then give it to them

  • Create a “breathable” structure for your talk that can be easily tweaked for different circumstances (including audiences and time limits)

Part 3 - Write, Refine—from first draft to finished script/first rehearsal

  • Polishing, refining and tweaking language, up and on your feet so it sounds like you

Part 4 - Rehearse, Reveal—from rehearsal to opening night

  • Memorization and rehearsal

  • How to rehearse, including breaking down given circumstances, choosing an objective, creating a stage presence.

  • Blocking, body language

  • Nuts and bolts for the day of (what to wear, what common traps to look out for)

  • Crafting your pre- and post-speech success routine.
